Name: Cassander LeSauvage
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Powers: Shadow Manipulation
Shadow Walking
Blindness Projection
Nightmare/Hallucination Control
Memory Manipulation
Class Standing (if applicable): N/A
Occupation: Teacher - SkyHigh
Physical Appearance: Cassander is your stereotypical villain, looks-wise, and this asshole couldn't be more pleased about that. He's what you might call 'tall, dark and handsome'. Standing at six foot one, he's got nearly shoulder-length black, curly hair that he usually keeps pushed back out of his eyes and left just a little wild, though he does occasionally braid it (French braid, of course) He's a medium mocha brown from his head to his feet. His eyes are hooded, half-lidded and a deep, smokey red-brown color, and just below his left eye he has a small black mole, at the top of his left cheek. His face is long and angular, with high sloping cheekbones and a long, slightly hooked nose.
Cass isn't the super-muscular type, but he's in good shape, a nice lean-muscular physique. His personal style consists of clean, nicely pressed dress shirts, usually rolled up to his elbows, tucked into slacks or dark jeans, with shined dress shoes and either a watch or a set of silver rings on his fingers.
Personality: Cassander is a cynical, serious fellow, with a slightly malicious-teasing side to him. He enjoys watching people (namely, his few chosen targets) squirm with discomfort or anger towards him, and likes goding people on to draw out a reaction from them. But overall, Cassander is a creature of habit, and enjoys a nice, mellow routine that doesn't change. Deep down, he's not some terrible chaotic lord of darkness like he'd love everyone to believe, he'd really just like to be left alone with his thoughts and his lovely routine.
But it's not a perfect world, and more often than not Cassander is faced with grievances and disruptions that cause a bit more of his malicious side to show. He's prone to dramatics when he can't get what he wants, and he has been known, very rarely, to explode when he's stressed out and pushed to his limits.
Cassander is a deeply devoted sort of person. He is devoted to family, however little he has left, and devoted to his craft, namely teaching and the honing of his own skills. He throws his entire soul into whatever he's doing, and despite his hard-to-love exterior, deep down he is a very caring man. He loves deeply, and he also hurts deeply. He's not quick to trust, and if you brake his trust, you'll suffer his wrath.
Personal History: Cassander was born to a young, unwed mother and a philandering father in the province of Lorraine, in the South of France. Charlotte DeSade, who was born and bred French, was only 19 when she met Yltan Samyonov, a man who was at least partly Romanian, but the rest is....still up for debate. He swept Charlotte off her feet and 9 months later, she had a baby Cassander in her arms and no boyfriend to speak of. Saddled with a burden she'd never wanted, she quickly married an old family friend, Jean Luc LeSauvage, a man several years her senior, and within two years had bore him his own son, Marrion. Cassander was raised by Jean Luc, though not happily, and as a result was a very rebellious and angry child. Cassander was sent to study at boarding school at the age of eleven after he was found vandalizing a neighbors property with several other boys his age.
Neither Charlotte nor Luc were super powered, none of Charlottes family was, so Cass' super powers must have come from his father. It was discovered that Cass was wrecking havoc for the teachers at his boarding school with his burgeoning powers not a year into his study, and he was expelled from the institution. It was during this time that Cass was sent to Switzerland, to attend the St. Augustine School for Exceptional Boys, an all-boys super powered educational institution. Here, Cass still caused trouble, but he felt much more accepted among his peers, and settled down quite a bit by the time he graduated.
Jean Luc was never a fan of super powers. After Cassander graduated, he was not allowed to return home to his mother and step-father's house, so, with nowhere else to go (and a distinct disdain for hero-corps) he sought out his biological father for the first time. Upon finding Yltan, blowing a considerable amount of credit in Monte Carlo, Cassander became heavily disillusioned with his powers. Finding himself repulsing, for he DID share the same powers as his father, he spent a great deal of time rejecting them. Finding his way into University, he graduated with a bachelors, and then a masters in Business, and spent a little while hoping between jobs. He found himself caught up in the black market not long after though, after a bit of shading venture capitalism, and it was here that he finally began to embrace his powers (because they made scamming and arms dealing so much easier and more profitable)
Cassander has calmed down these days, though, and after being recruited to teach Teleportation Physics at SkyHigh, he's kept his black market debauchery to a minimum. The only reason Cassander has been able to fly under the radar as a Villain and not be flagged by the Guardian Council as one is because all of his nefarious deeds took place in the non-super-powered world. He was always very careful of that. But these days he wouldn't consider himself a full villain. Maybe just a demi-villain.
Other: Cass hates it when those who aren't close, close friends or family call him 'Cass'. And he's also gay to the max, though he's not into announcing it.
